Or how did the model come into existence?
The name Porsche is inextricably linked with the term “911” and its predecessor “356.” The great success of the 356 series, which established the Porsche Nimbus, was clearly surpassed by the “911.” The new 911 had a self-supporting body, a safety steering column and a completely redesigned air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine. It was bigger outside and inside. It now had panoramic windows with good all-round visibility, a larger trunk and a longer wheelbase which significantly improved the ride comfort. The successful and until today striking design was a joint effort of Erwin Komenda and Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The model was offered with different engine performances and at first only in the two body variants Coupe and Targa, later also as Cabriolet and Roadster. After its first appearance in 1963, it has been continuously developed to this day while maintaining the essential optical characteristics of the original “Elfers.” The vehicle is still the epitome of an optimal 2 + 2 sports car, that is, in addition to two full seats in front, two emergency seats can be found in the back.
Or its true, current condition: original, lifted or retreaded?
The first delivery took place in January 1977 in Texas, USA. The corresponding delivery certificate from Porsche, the original U.S. title and numerous documents on maintenance and repair measures are available. After a full-scale restoration in 2012 at the highest level, the Porsche 911 T presents itself in a very good technical and optical condition. Everything is working fine. The vehicle has “Matching Numbers Engine and Transmission” and corresponds to the first delivery in terms of color and configuration.
Or what else is there to display?
It still conveys the driving pleasure and driving experience of one of the most attractive sports cars of the 1970s – just as it did 40 years ago. Those who would like to fully exploit their sporting potential can experience this responsibly almost only on closed courses. But also on public roads, its acceleration capacity and the famous road layout can be enjoyed wonderfully, it is fully suitable for everyday use and very well equipped with useful accessories. A top vehicle: ready for the current season and at the same time an investment with potential for value appreciation.
