in the 60s, awareness grew for better safety measures on the road. Mercedes-Benz was one of the pioneers of this cause and stepped up its research and development to improve the passive safety of vehicles. The results were presented at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show when pioneering safety features were incorporated in their SL series: rigid passenger compartment, defined crumple zones front and rear, telescopic steering column with impact absorber, an interior with no sharp edges and corners, radial tires and seat belts as optional accessories. Incidentally, the nickname Pagoda emerged due to the shape of the concavelyarched hardtop, a concept aimed at improving the available interior space.
It is a very elaborately restored automobile. During the restoration special emphasis was placed on the original specifications of the manufacturer. The result is a vehicle with a new car character. Due to the special restoration services, this Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda stands out clearly from the normal classic car market as well as from the other classic cars with the state mark 1. The work carried out is extensively documented and the sale is covered by a one year full warranty. The Mercedes-Benz data card as well as an individual valuation report (1 = Mint condition) are available.
